HI PLS HELP! IT WOULD BE VERY MUCH APPRECIATED!

Post by filuk » Thu Jan 31, 2008 11:43 pm

:( Is there any chance that me and my husband could get our daughter in the philippines? Both of us are already a British citizen here in UK West Midlands but the problem is she's almost 22 years old. We've been longing for her ever since, we've tried to apply her for tourist visa but the thing is tourist are allowed to stay in a short span of 3 months and they will ban an amount of 1,000 pounds, we do not want either to apply her for student visa because of some reason. My question is, until what age you can claim your children when you're already a British citizen? is it still possible to claim her even though she's not under 18 anymore?

urgent reponse is very much appreciated.
Thank you so much. Godbless!

See also Chapter 15 Entry for settlement: parents, grandparents, other dependent relatives.

Why didn't she come with you when she was under 18?

This is the question similar to dependant visa since she is over 18yrs old. U need to proove she is totally depending on u if she is no more a child. U need to check with the Home Office. Probably chances are very low, sorry to say that.

In most of the time, when u have a hole for the ECO to fail u, they will do that. But u can try and if u cant make it, u can appeal if ur grounds are good. There are other ways to come to UK.

What is she currently doing? Is she single, married; does she have children, etc?

How long have you been in the UK? Is she working?
