WP -> ILR -> registration?

Post by pokes » Sat Feb 02, 2008 10:28 am

Hi all,

Got my ILR last week after five years on WP. The experience at Birmingham PEO was very good (lot of cheap parking nearby, friendly staff, etc.).

The process (and my case) was quite straight forward. Just asked for the following:

---Application form
---Letter from employer
---Last three months pay slips (no P60, bank statements, etc)
---Life in UK test certificate

My absences were less than 140 days.

The question I have is: My son (11) was born outside the UK - after ILR can he now be registered as a British citizen or will he need to wait for one year before can do so?

Any advice would be great.

I think Registration in your case applies only to UK born children.

I think that your son may register as a British citizen when you apply for Naturalisation.
