COS category and end date

Post by optimusprime75 » Mon Jun 12, 2017 1:43 pm

Hi all,

I was on a Tier 2 general visa for 4 years 5 months and recently made redundant. I now manage to get a new job, below are the details mentioned in COS, can experts / experience users confirm details are correctly?

Tier category - Tier 2 ( General - changes of employment - ISC exempt) - Is this correct?
End date: June 2020 (Maximum 6 years are allowed on Tier 2 visa - would this be an issue?)
Does the migrant need to leave and re-enter...: Y (Do I have to leave the country and re-enter?)

Many thanks

What date did you leave your last employer?

Has the new employer completed the full and proper RLMT process before offering you the job?

Thanks for your reply.

Yes I think employer completed all required labour market test. I left the last employment in April.

You need to be 200% that RLMT was conducted properly. If it has not, your visa will likely be refused.

if you have been on tier 2 visa for 4 years 5 months, then your first tier 2 visa must have been issued between Nov 2012- Dec 2012. It means you can only be granted tier 2 visa up to Dec 2018. The end date in your new COS should be December 2018 (or 6 years from the date your first tier 2 visa was issued). It can not be 2020.
