working tax credit

Post by gurmitleo » Sat Jun 17, 2017 7:50 pm

Hi,

I have been told that I can apply for child benefit and child tax credit. Not sure if can apply for working tax credit and universal credit. My wife is on 2.5 years spouse visa.

Can any one advise if can apply working tax credit and universal credit without affecting in future my wife's application for extension of stay.

Thanks

Tax credits MUST be claimed in JOINT names. Child benefit in your name only.

Universal Credit will be awarded only as a single person + child/children, although any income your wife has will be used to calculate your entitlement.

CR001 has already answered your question in this thread:
