gap question

Post by ci07jjs » Sun Feb 10, 2008 11:11 pm

Hello,

My workpermit was originally valid till sep 2009, however I resigned my job on 31 Aug 2007 and switched my workpermit to a student status on 3rd september 2007. Is the difference in two days considered as a gap? I hear that I have 28 days before I can switch into a new status - I have switched within that 28 days, but just not sure if the difference in days is classed as a gap. For the note, 1 and 2 september 2007 falls on a weekend.

Many thanks

There is usually a "grace" period of 28 days when a work permit ends. I'm not quite sure how much of it follows from the Immigration act and how much of it is an unwritten rule.
