Tier 2 General - Tuberculosis TB Test

Post by RamyaA » Mon Jul 03, 2017 4:53 pm

Hello All,

I am in UK for the last 9 months on Tier 2 ICT Dependant visa.
I am going to India in August 1st week to get my Tier 2 general visa done (CoS + RMLT done)
Do I need to get the TB test done ? Do I fall under the point 3 below as I am in UK for the last 6 months and not away for no more than 6 months? Any pointers would be really helpful. Please reply.

I have got our TB done done in India 9 months back when I came to UK on Tier 2 ICT Dependanta visa.

Who doesn’t need to be tested :

You won’t need a TB test if any of the following apply:
you’re a diplomat accredited to the UK
you’re a returning UK resident and haven’t been away for more than 2 years
you lived for at least 6 months in a country where TB screening is not required by the UK, and you’ve been away from that country for no more than 6 months

Thanks,
Ramya

If you are applying for entry clearance from India, you need to submit TB test.

Thanks for the response.
But when I called to the UK visa helpline number now, the lady mentioned that I don't need to get the TB test done as I am in UK since the last 9 months.
Now, I am confused.

Can I any one who has gone through the same scenario please suggest?

Thanks,
Ramya

Hello Ramya,

I'm also in the exact same situation as you are at the moment. So can you tell me whether we need to take a TB test? I was a Tier-2 ICT dependent visa living in UK since March 2016. I will be completing 1.5 years in UK and I will be applying for a Tier-2 general visa from India very soon. Should I have to take a TB test?

Did you get any confirmation on this??

Thanks
Subha

This might help

https://www.gov.uk/tb-test-visa/overview

Who doesn’t need to be tested
You won’t need a TB test if any of the following apply:

you’re a diplomat accredited to the UK
you’re a returning UK resident and haven’t been away for more than 2 years
you lived for at least 6 months in a country where TB screening is not required by the UK, and you’ve been away from that country for no more than 6 months
Any suggestions I make in the forum are out my personal experience and should not be taken as a legal/professional advise.

Yes I have seen that already. So can you tell me whether we need to take a TB test? I was a Tier-2 ICT dependent visa living in UK since March 2016. I will be completing 1.5 years in UK and I will be applying for a Tier-2 general visa from India very soon. Should I have to take a TB test? Will I not fall under the last category which you have listed above?

Can you confirm if I'm exempted from taking a TB test this time? Yes/No ??

Hi Subha,

Unfortunately, I can't help with your question.
I am in the process of applying the visa and I got conflicting response from different sources on the TB test.
When I called the UK visa helpline twice, they mentioned I do not need a TB test as I am in the UK since 9 months. But the response was not confident enough.

Please update us if you get to know any information.

Thanks,
Ramya

Hello Ramya,

May I know whether you were asked by to get test done by VFS or someone
UKVI website clearly states you don't require, but has VFS asked you to get one done ?
