Hi i know this is a old thread now but we have also applied for a UK settlement visa in Cairo.

I have received all the documents/evidence i sent to my home address in the UK - but with no decision information or letter included.

Will we only know the outcome of the application when he picks up his passport from Cairo?

Yes, there should also be a letter included with the passport, hopefully giving details on collection of BRP card.
