Losing job.

Post by deephalo82 » Fri Feb 15, 2008 3:14 pm

Hello all,

I lost my job in the first year of my green card. Do I have the right to seek another job since I had to work for my company for 12 months?

What is losing a job through redundancy?

Thanks,

You would normally have to stay with your initial sponsoring employer for the first year of the green card. However, in what they describe as exceptional circumstances (I guess redundancy would be one?) they will allow you to find a new employer and get a new permit before the first year is up. Please note that the original permit must be current.

Look at the following web link - http://www.entemp.ie/labour/workpermits/redundant.htm
