ILR after Tier 2 (General Visa) and Civil Partnership visa

Post by Surjit82 » Tue Jul 25, 2017 5:11 pm

Dear members,

My question is based on the following facts:
(1) "A" has worked under Tier 2 (General) sponsorship for 4 years in a company; and
(2) "A" has got a civil partnership visa (for 5 years) after the 4th year above.

Can "A" apply for ILR after 1st year under civil partnership? I am asking this because "A" has completed 5 years.

I look forward to your response. Many thnaks in advance!

Regards,

S

No because A's immigration clock was reset to zero when they switched to a civil partnership visa, putting them on a new 5 year path to ILR.
