visa refusal vs rejected

Post by karan270 » Sat Jul 29, 2017 5:53 am

Dear all

I didn't realise we need a new CoS after visa has been unsuccessful ??

Also, there seems to be a way with words and an exception to the rule :
"191.Your Certificate of Sponsorship cannot be used more than once. If your application is refused and you wish to make another application, you will need a new Certificate of Sponsorship from your sponsor. If your application is rejected by us or withdrawn by you, however, you can apply again using the same Certificate of Sponsorship provided it is still valid on the date you apply. "
So refusal and rejection can make a world of a difference ??

Finally, people wrote earlier that
To clear this issue ask u employer to log into the "Sponsorship Management System" and check the status of the current COS.
If COS still valid (after u employer check the status) u can use it again.
IF the HO has rejected u COS then u need one (sometimes HO rejects the application but not COS and sometimes they reject both).
COS can be assigned in a day but depends on the payment clearance.

How much of all this holds true? Thank you all...

in the context of the session 191 above, it appears that refusal is used when your application has been treated and the decision has been made not to grant the application. While rejection could be that the application was returned due to incompleteness or any other reason, in which case the application was not treated and therefore the CoS was not used.

Does anyone know that reapplying for a new restricted COS after rejection entails the same slow painful process.. apply by 25 of month, and get the COS by 12 of the following month .

Or is to possible to get a new number quickly?

Thank you

You will have to go through the process again as it is a new application assuming your previous CoS has been used.

Thank you for your reply. Getting a restricted COS again also means going thru RLMT again ?
