Tier 4 visa parental consent

I need to apply for uk tier 4 visa. I'm below 18 so I’d be needing a consent letter from my parents. But the thing is my dad is a marine engineer and he's sailin at the moment. The only way I can get the letter signed is through email but that would not be an original copy right? Do I have any other option?
