SOC code query

Post by pd1gtk » Sun Sep 17, 2017 11:38 am

I am a medical doctor working as a clinical research fellow at a university where the job description mentioned that I had to work in research 80% of the time and 20% would be clinical work. I also have an honorary NHS contract as part of my overall contract which allows me to work in the hospital even though the university pays my salary. However I was recruited using the SOC code 2112 which is for biological scientists and doctors are recruited under SOC code 2211.
My question is can I work medically part-time (20 hrs/wk) even though I have been recruited under a different SOC code. Thank you.

I stand to be corrected, but I think your secondary job must also be in the same SOC as your main job.
I am not a lawyer and do not claim to be one. All my comments here are based on my opinions, experience and interpretation of the appropriate UKVI guidance documents and immigration rules.
