Can one default affect my application?

Post by tdealing » Fri Sep 22, 2017 10:58 am

I have applied at the end of May and got an email with the reference number on 7th of July.
Looking at the application timelines, it seems that most people hear back from HO within three months. I am still waiting, I literally track my application every day online. It's now three months and two weeks since they acknowledged my application.

I am really worrying that my default debt from Vodafone at £100 can affect my application. I didn't know about this debt so I didn't make much effort to pay it back, I got in touch with Vodafone yesterday and will pay it back. This default has been there since July this year so not that long.

Would this be a huge problem?

Thanks,

This is not the case anymore, look at the May thread (british-citizenship/may-2017-naturalisa ... 32477.html), some people who applied in early May are only just getting their responses, it will likely be few more weeks until people who applied in late May to get their decisions.

Oh do you think? Do you think I'll hear from them by the end of October?

I have no idea how long it will take, I would hope so, from my personal experience I applied mid-May and I thought it would be done by the end of September, but it does not seem likely.

Oh, I see, I'm just a bit worried because it seems like most people hear back within 3 months. :(

I've waited for 5 months (- 5 days). If you get your reply within next few weeks consider yourself lucky :)
