Tier-2 Gen visa validity if travel date is end December

Post by mmmughal » Mon Oct 02, 2017 12:42 pm

Hello all,

I am on Tier-2 gen visa. My son is back home with his mother. Want to apply for his dependent visa. Tentative travel date is end of December. As per information provided in PBS dependent guideline, initially he will be granted a visa valid for 30 days only.

.From 18 March 2015, depending on the country where you applied, successful applicants for entry clearance will not be given a vignette in their passport, but rather you will be given a BRP. If
successful you will be given a 30 day visa to allow you to collect your BRP after you have arrived
in the UK. There will be a phased introduction of this and you will be advised when you receive
your visa whether this applies to you.

Imagine if we apply for his visa in mid October to be on safe side. In visa application if we mention 30th December as travel date, what would be the validity period on his visa ?

Say he receive his passport back on 10th November. Will it be like, visa valid from 10th Nov to 10th Dec. Or validity will starts in a future date (somewhere near or before 30th December) because home-office issue visas according to travel dates mentioned in visa application.

Many thanks in advance.

Regards,
M.

You can request a forward date of up to 3 months. UKVI often do ignore this and issue the visa from date of decision. If this happens you will need to get it corrected and provide evidence that you have requested a forward date (i.e. print off the online application for reference and keep a copy).

Many thanks CR001 for a quick reply and valuable advice to stay on safe side. I might need further help from gurus, while preparing application & documents for my son's visa application. :)

Document list confirmation & issue date requirement

Post by mmmughal » Wed Oct 04, 2017 1:07 pm

Hello all,

I am working in the U.K. on Tier-2 general visa. My son is 6 months old and in Pakistan with his mother. We want to apply for his Tier-2 dependent visa application. Could you please confirm document list mentioned below is correct and no other document is required;

1. Certificate Of Sponsorship (copy)
2. Tier-2 visa of main applicant (copy)
3. Passport of main applicant (copy)
4. Maintenance letter from A-rated employer (original)
5. Passport of applicant (my son) (original)
6. Birth certificate [U.K. issued have father & mother name] (original)
7. TB certificate (original)

I have few questions related to submission of documents.

1. Do we need to attach copy of all pages of main applicant's (Me) passport ?
2. If maintenance letter is issued in October, will it remain valid for the whole month of November ? What is the maximum validity of a document issued by employer ?
3. Is TB certificate required for my son as he is only 6 months old ?

Please feel free to add/mention if any other documents are required to apply for my son's Tier-2 dependent visa.

Thank you in advance.

1.no. Front 2 pages are enough..
2. try to use the letter within 1 calender month from date of issue. i dont think it explicitly says that letter should be 1 month old like bank statements.
3. how long has he been away from uk.

add kids mother visa copy as well

Many thanks iworker for your reply. He went there on 9th July we are aiming to apply for his visa end of this month or first week of November. Max stay at the time of application will be 4 months approx.

I will add his mother's visa copy as well( nice suggestion). :)

May i need to send my bank account statement ?

IMO, no need for tb test.
You will need to add either employer letter saying they will support your dependent for at least 1 month for an amount up to £630, or u need to send your bank statements showing min balance of £630 for 90 days. This is very important, and if u dont do this, the visa will most definitely be rejected.

Thanks again for your reply.

I read this information from https://www.gov.uk/tb-test-visa

Who doesn’t need to be tested
You won’t need a TB test if any of the following apply:

you’re a diplomat accredited to the UK
you’re a returning UK resident and haven’t been away for more than 2 years
you lived for at least 6 months in a country where TB screening is not required by the UK, and you’ve been away from that country for no more than 6 months

My son was born in the U.K. and reside here for 4.5 months approx before he went on holidays with his mother. He is residing out of the U.K. since last 3.5 months

What i understood from above mentioned information available on gov. website, because of this clause you’re a returning UK resident and haven’t been away for more than 2 years he don't need a TB test/certificate.

Please advice.

A senior member/guru said, IMO, no need for TB test. . If this is the case, may i know according to which rule he is exempted from TB test ?

We are planning to apply for our son's visa within a week or two. Please confirm, if we need a TB certificate for my son. Can not afford to submit incomplete application. :(

tb test is required, depending on your country of residence. Certain countries are exempt.
Since he was born here and spend more time here and less than 6 months in pak, he should be exempt. But like i said, IMO.

Many thanks for your reply. I know its better to be on safe side.

If we have to do it, we have to start initiate the process as it will take few days to get arranged and sorted. Honestly we can not afford to loose time because tentative travel is in Dec.

Please say yes/no to make it more clear for me, if possible. :)

I have few queries related to my son's visa application, i will highly appreciate if any senior member can answer them,

I am providing maintenance letter from employer with the visa application form. Is it required to submit my payslips or bank account statement as well ?

Just to confirm, i signed his visa application form on his behalf, is that ok ?

I am the home owner and attached a copy of the letter from land registration office, may i need to attach my utility bills etc. ?

My i need to write & sign a covering letter for the visa application stating who i am, my professional position, about the accommodation where my son will live, i will support him for his entire stay and will not ask for public funds ?

the question is a non-starter.
these are all optional docs. you can submit if you want, but they dont ask for these.
