Bank account opening : local HSBC letter.

Hi All ,

I read here that to open a HSBC passport account in UK , one needs to get a letter from local HSBC branch (in India). But I could not find info on this on the hsbc.co.uk website.

Can someone tell what letter one has to get from local HSBC branch ? is there a fixed format ? what are it's contents ?

please help.
