First Time Passport with FBR

Hi

How long did it take for people to get a passport via London? Any tips for when applying? Do you need to include envelopes for the return of passport/ documents? I'd rather my passport was sent out tracked and signed for.

I also read your witness should stamp your photos. Can they not just sign them? How would the whole stamp fit on the back or a passport photo?
