Tier 2 Dependent Visa Application form

Post by ASJ1989 » Fri Nov 10, 2017 11:17 am

Hi
My husband is employed in the UK on Tier 2 General Visa.
I would like to apply for a Dependent Visa.

Do I use Family Visa - Standard Visitor Visa for multiple journeys or PBS Tier 2 dependent visa.

Access UK only allows Standard Visitor Visa.
Kindly guide me as to which type of Visa form to use.
How do I proceed?
Thanks.

Highlighted above is the correct one.

You apply as tier 2 general partner, online from only.

Thank you very much.
However when I go through the link, you have provided, there is no visa subtype as PBS Tier 2 Dependent visa.
The drop down is only visit, family, subtype-duration 6 months, long term up t 2 years.
I have created an application for Long term up to 2 years-GWFxxxxx.
Am I in the right track?
Kindly help.
Thanks Again.

She cannot stay long term in the UK on a visitor visa. This is NOT the correct category if she is coming to live with you.

That aside, she will likely be refused a visitor visa if she is not able to show extensive ties to home country and intention to leave the UK after her visit.

What are all the options you are given from the start on the drop down menus? I don't have access to the online forms.

Thank you for your guidance.

Clicking the link you had provided, it took me to Dependents of Tier 2- Family Members.

At the start of the drop down menu the options that are applicable for my case are only Visit-Family or Others
I tried choosing others thinking that in the Visa sub type, I will see PBS Tier 2.

Unfortunately, it has no option for PBS dependents, leaving me to choose only visits up to 6 months, 2 years and 5 years.

So I chose Family-Visit-2 years-Long term stay and created an application form saying-No work, No study.

I can delete the form at this stage or go to application form-Hence I have logged off.

I have traveled to the UK earlier and have used Business Visa for training and Visitor Visa for exams.
There are sufficient proofs for Home country ties as our children are here-studying in India.

However I would like to apply for PBS Tier 2 Dependent Visa now that my husband is employed in the UK and I have all the documents to support my application.

Is there a specific form for PBS TIER 2 Dependent Visa?

Earlier in 2012 I am given to understand after web searching the Form VAF10 was in use.
Has it been replaced?
If so, could you please help me, would greatly appreciate.
Thank you very much.
Regards.

Apply
What service you use depends on the visa you’re applying for.

Apply for a tourist or short stay visa
You can apply using the Access UK service for a:

Standard Visitor visa
Marriage Visitor visa
Permitted Paid Engagement visa
You appear to be using this option from the link I have provided to apply visa Access UK. This is NOT the right link.
Apply for all other visas
Apply using the Visa4UK service for all other visas, including study and work visas.

Create an account on Visa4UK to apply for the first time.

Sign in to Visa4UK to apply if you already have an account.
This is the one you must use, Visa4UK. Did you miss this bit at the bottom of the page on the link I provided???

Yes, I used the link and went right up to the bottom and clicked on All other Visas.

I created an account first and signed in to choose the "Apply for all other Visas".
Subsequent steps leads me to 1. Visit-Family 2. Long term 6 months, 2 years and 5 years.

A bit concerned...now..

Additionally I have a querry too.
Do we submit the Criminal Clearance records-I have lived in Singapore and India.

Thanks so much
Regards

What are the exact step by step online options you are given on the Visa4UK website?

It should be something like : Tier 2 General >> Tier 2 General Partner

1. The link took me to Tier 2 (General) Visa
2,Your family members must apply online
3.Clicking this, it mentioned Apply for a UK Visa

Option 1:
Apply for a tourist or short stay visa
You can apply using the Access UK service for a:

Standard Visitor visa
Marriage Visitor visa
Permitted Paid Engagement visa

Option 2:
Apply for all other visas
Apply using the Visa4UK service for all other visas, including study and work visas.

I chose option 2:
Created an account and signed in.

Then the options were Family Visas-long term 2 years, 5years
I chose Long term 2

There was no Tier 2 mentioned.

When asked about with whom I will stay-Spouse/Partner?...I chose this option.
But status of Spouse -only Temporary Resident seems applicable, but if I chose the Temporary Resident, it does'nt add at all.

Does my husband come under "Temporary Resident"?

So I am confused and am afraid I have chosen the wrong option of Long Term 2 years.

Also in another page I see that Standard Visitor Visa has replaced Family Visas?
Should I have applied this.

Now stuck half way through.

Can I delete the Application form and redo? What are the consequences?
Please help.

Thanks very much.
Regards.

When you log into Visa4UK, the first screen you get, what do you click on from the bold underline options below??

This is the first screen you should see when you log in (a big purple block of text with two lines of text underneath the purple block).
Welcome to the Visa4UK service, you can apply for a UK visa using this service if you’re an applicant who is not currently in the UK.

Register for an account using the 'Register an Account' button below to begin your application.

We are currently updating our online visa application service. You may be able to apply using our new service for visit visa applications if you are applying for a:

- Standard Visitor Visa
- Marriage Visitor Visa
- 1 month Permitted Paid Engagements visa

Please select Apply For Myself to start your visa application.

If you are applying on behalf of some one else please select Apply For Someone Else

Thank you for your patience.
Yes I did choose -- Apply for myself.

After that was-- Visit --Family.
I think I went wrong in choosing the Long Term Visa- 2 year because there was no option of Tier 2 dependents.

Is there a possibility for me to delete the Application form I created-Family-Visit-Long term 2 year?
Can I re- do it?

What are my options now, please?
Thank you.

You need to select :

>>work
>>>Tier 2 General Visa
>>>>General, Partner upto X years

Not 'visit'.

You will have to redo or re-register and do it again.

Thank you very much.
I have to re-do and have deleted.

My family situation does not permit me to work in the UK at this point of time, my commitments here make it impossible.

Hence Applying to Visit.

What would be the best route, please?

Can I apply for work and still be a visitor or
Shall I take the Standard Visitor route which includes Family visas?

I shall await your guidance and then proceed.
Thanks Again

High risk of refusal for a visitor visa if your spouse is in the UK. UKVI could take the view that you have no real reason to leave the UK and will overstay.

The category 'work' does not mean you MUST work. It is merely the category of visa that you apply under for a Tier 2 Dependent visa as it must be the same category as your spouse.

With regard to the Dependent Application of Tier 2 General,
May I request your help with the supporting documents please?

In the list of documents for PBS Tier 2 Dependent,

1.Marriage Certificate

2. All my documents
--Passport
--Educational qualifications,
--Family details (Non dependent Children)
--Proof of residence, India
--Savings or Funding available in India

3. My husbands:
--Rental Agreement
--Rental receipts
--Pay slips
--Bank Statements,
--CoS,
--Passport and
--BRP copy

Should the Passport and BRP copy of my husband-certified or attested? If so by whom and where?

Do I need to produce Police clearance certificate from India?

Thanks
Regards

Just as I am getting the docs ready, the website on logging in for visa applicaion says that from April 2017, adult partners of Tier 2 visa holders must submit Police clearance certs if the visa holder comes under SOC.

How do I find out if my husbandS Job is listed under SOC?
His BRP says- Restricted Work.

Could you please clarify this please?
Thanks

Hi

You can check SOC from your husband's COS (Certificate Of Sponsorship)..

I am also stuck at the "Criminal Record Certificate" I don't know whether all the dependents need to provide this certificate?

Thank you.

Yes, I am uncertain if all dependents are required...as I have been to the UK earlier and have had my CRB cleared. But the purpose was different.

I have lived in SE asia and India...so getting from three countries is going to be difficult and time consuming.

Would be grateful if someone could clarify.
