Post by pksachdeva » Thu Mar 06, 2008 2:27 pm

Hi
My cousin has got british citizenship in May,2007 .He is getting a job offer from US based firm along with that they are filling for Green Card for him .

Just was wondering as his birth place is India ,would he be treated as an Indian national for Green Card or British national as he is naturalised british citizen now .

Regards
Pradeep

What do you think? Is he an Indian citizen or a British citizen?

I think you answered your own question. He's a British citizen. Place of birth and citizenship can be two totally different things.

Quotas were abolished in 1965.

Indian, as far as I know. Unless (possibly) he can claim chargeability somewhere else due to spouse or parents birthplace.

There are still per-country limits.
