Naturalisation- Passport application

I submitted my citizenship application yesterday via the Nationality checking service. I didn't realise (until I was asked) that I could have applied for a passport at the same time. Am I still in time to submit the request separately?

No you cannot. You will now only be able to apply once you have attended your ceremony.

Any idea if it is quicker to get naturalised without a passport request?

No, it makes no difference. Naturalisation is dealt by a different department to passports.
