Citizenahip question

Post by zaza7625 » Wed Jan 10, 2018 4:00 pm

Hi all.
Simple question.
My wife is eu citizen. She was in ireland since 2004 up to 2010. Then in 2010 she left ireland and back again in2013.
As immigration site says, person living 4 years out of 8 can apply irish citizenship.
Can she apply or not? She has 3 years gap but she lived here and have been living 4 years and more out of 8.
Thanks

The 5 years need not be continuous. Its the last year before application that should be continuous.

Yes, it cannot be more than 6 weeks. This has happened to me. So I am currently not eligible, because, I took more than 6 weeks holidays, last year. So try to be careful with your holidays and keep them to a minimum. No more than 6 weeks in the last year, before the date when you apply.

put application date in the calculator it will them tell you from when the days can be accounted for, I think years of residence past 8 years cant be counted but check the residency calculator
also last year residence should be continuous stamps and or physical residence so make sure no more then 6 weeks gap in the past 12 months prior to application date.
thanks
