Regarding transitional arrangement...Confused

Post by pavanne » Sat Mar 15, 2008 11:44 am

Hi Friends,
I am currently in UK on Workpermit.
I applied for HSMP first level on Feb 7th, and hoping to get decision next week or something.
My doubt here is that for the next FLR,
Do I need to apply using old system or new Tier 1 system..?
I am bit confused..
In the website,
http://www.bia.homeoffice.gov.uk/workin ... angements/
its like we need to apply using new Tier 1 system, but my consultant is saying that I need to apply using old system itself.

I am not sure abt this.
Could anybody please help me in this.

Thanks in advance.

.

Any HSMP that needs an extension after 29 February must be done under Tier 1 rules.

HSMP holders get a couple of benefits when renewing, but they are quite small concessions.

Points Calculator - extending HSMP under Tier 1

An immigration consultant who has got that wrong at this late date is not a very knowledgeable immigration consultant.

[ On EDIT :

- UK - Extending leave to remain under Tier 1

- Tier 1 - General Highly Skilled Migrants criteria

For UK based applicants, tier 1 HSMP has started from 29-Feb-08.
Old HSMP does-not hold good for UK based applicants. Your consultant has not read the bia instruction properly :-(

If you remain UK based while you get HSMP approval letter and want to apply for EC or LLR then take following steps:
1) Fill the Tier 1 (General) form
2) Pay 350 pounds fee
3) You will automatically get 75 points for attributes (age, education, previous earnings & uk exp) and 10 points for english requirement
4) YOu have to produce evidence for claiming 10 points under maintenance section.

- Job done.

Pavana,
Recently they reversed the rule on how long the maintenance fund should be in your account. It does not need to be there for 3 months again. It can be there today and get your statement gtomorrow. This is valid till 28th of June, I think. Check the website to confirm this.
Cheers.
