Hi,
I got both the permanent offers directly from companies. Had applied on their websites. No Agents involved. I had worked for one of the companies in India.

In addition to uploading CVs on jobserve, monster, cwjobs, planetrecruit and applying to relavent roles available on these sites i prefer directly applying to Employers hiring as mentioned on monster UK site.

Frankly telling, my CV was considered more than 10 times by Agents but nothing materialized finally. So never trust them.

Also, I think if you edit your CV every Sunday on these job portals you will be first in the Agents list for next week.

Always use a cover letter. Also see following two links on CV,

http://www.rediff.com/getahead/2008/feb/08cv.htm
http://www.rediff.com/getahead/2008/feb/27cv.htm

Best of luck to everyone in their job search.

Hi,

*********************************************
LANDED IN UK : 30/01/2008
INTERVIEWS ATTENDED : around 10 .. sorry don't remmeber exactly
OFFERS : 1
JOINED : Going to join 25/03/2008
JOB SECTOR : Development (ASP .Net, SQL Server). 7 years experience in Pakistan.
TYPE : PERM
TIPS :

1. Be specific and honest to your skills and target job.
2. If you are not getting a luck in main cities then try outside and remote areas. You'll face less competition in remote areas as everybody want to live in main cities.
3. Apply, apply and apply for jobs. More interviews you have more chances you have and you'll get valuable experience aswell.
4. Register with many recruitment agencies as you can. Search on google for recruitment agencies in London.
5. Try to get travel reimberssment for interviews, if these are long way from your residence.
6. Read interview tips from different websites even you are a master. Use google!

Here are some job websites, I've used. Post your CV on these.
**********************************************

If you still don't get any luck then see what your CV has to sell!

JD

Do not limit yourself to London. Be open to go outside for interviews.

Search on google for agencies in London or UK. Submit your CV to every IT recruitment Agency.

Good luck.
