Hi All,

Iam a 3+ yrs experienced Java Developer working for a MNC in India.

I applied HSMP in feb 08.

i come across some issues and discussed with people who are working in UK on job.

as per thier suggestions, they are saying US is better for job search
and money savings too.

earnings might be more in UK but when we come to savings its more or less same and difficult to survive.

and Job market right now in 2008 is very bad and difficult to get the jobs
and change if necessary.

i was very dissapointed after getting this information from different people.

I request the people who are working in UK from india, please try to
suggest me the correct way.

and clarify some of these questions.


-> How is the Job Market in UK for Java Developers in 2008 ?

-> what is the minimum experience required for job search in uk ?

-> what is the maximim time to get job offer ?

-> can we surive with part time jobs for some time until we get right job in IT field ?

-> how much the monthly expense will be for a normal life ?
(a room and food)

-> what are all the complete deductions in salary for a salaried employee in UK ? (like income tax and others)

-> Do we need any prior UK experience to get job ? is that mandatory ?

-> what are all the preferable domains the recruiters look out ?

-> all uk jobs for EU people is that correct ?

-> are people happy with thier IT-software job in uk ?

First thing I need to mention that, you should have researched these things, before appying to HSMP. Now , you are half way down, then how answers to your questions affect your decision ?

Apply for matching jobs on various job sites, mentioning your condition(HSMP holder), and judge by the response you get.

I feel, 3+ is better starting point.

You can get shared acco in London from £60 / week, and you can cook for your self, which will save your lot of money.
