Police Reg. certificare update

Today I noted that I did not update the police that I have a new passport because my old passport expired, I got that passport in June 2016, about one year and half, and I am in treble if I go tomorrow and inform them, I have read the note below:

Once an applicant has complied with the requirement to register you can process the application as normal.

Please advise me and what shall I do

Only for specific nationalities. It says on your BRP if you need to register

I went to OVRO and they stamp on my PRC without any note, they said that they have thousands cases like my case.
Do you think there is an impact on my next applications?
