They know know migrants is they key of this country's survival but still they ain't speaking about the super bad service which they are providing to decide a straight forward application.
Migrants are still criminal whereas they are supporting NHS.

DO NOT turn this topic in yet another 'any update', 'have you received your extension', 'still waiting' topic.

£600 is quite cheap for encompassing health insurance.

(I went to school in Switzerland and did not get a student visa without mandatory insurance much higher than that. Do u realize what the USA gives? What expats in China pay?)

Many migrants are clearly not bringing value to the UKs future. Entrepreneurs clearly are the high value (OK not all of us which is part of the problem) and this sum should not be too big of a hindrance.

Non-sense.... You also cant compare USA, China and UK together visa cost are completely different to immigrate to those countries.

Many migrants are skilled what about doctors etc from abroad.

I don't think the UK has a problem with the skilled migrants and I don't think they have a problem paying. There are many economic migrants who come or want to come to the UK and they are asked to pay health insurance for a few years till they "join the club" i.e ILR

You are indeed foolish, or frustrated, if you think none of the migrants to who arrive here for settlement bring nothing.

Where did I say anything about none of the migrants bring nothing??

There are higher value Migrants and vice versa

I am a migrant and have brought dozens of jobs many a few years already and average salary of around £50k. I dont pay IHS anymore as am ILR.

My immigration process was a huge time wasting task that risked my business and a lot because of the many fakers in the T1e route

I was referring specifically to settlement individuals not tier 1. Settlement people have already paid so much in application and plus in future will be entitled to NHS anyway.

I agree with you on tier 1.

I thought £200 per year x 3 to 5 years upfront was bad. This is coming from a Tier 4 switching into another category.

Isn't the qualification of bank account maintenance enough? UK always trying to a find someway to curb migrant entry. They might see a deterrence of the highly skilled workers.

Bank account maintenance A is a joke in amount and B is not the point. The fact you can maintain yourself is not a reason the government of a foreign country should give you free health insurance. It means you can pay for it.

Look at this this way, me as a UK citizen and many others have paid into the NHS system for many years (nearly 40 years in my case) contributing how much I've no idea, probably well into six figures.

Average NI payments in UK are 10% of earnings, say £2k pa conservative estimate, so I can see no problem with migrants paying a similar amount - it's only fair.

I never said FREE. Migrants should pay something of course. I do not see how it is necessary to increase by so much.

Students IHS will go from £150 to £300 per year. I think this should be the same for those recent graduates(Tier 2) just entering the work force.

Students are on average healthier than the average migrant. Remember this insurance covers even existing ailments and covers serious illness as well (I was living a short while in the USA and I just did long term travel insurance that would cover e.g. car accidents and heart attack. If I contracted cancer I said I would move back to home country for coverage) it is a good price

Is there any indication of when this doubling of IHS will take place?

There has been no announcement about when or if they will go up. No one has said they are increasing on 6th April!!
