retain right of residence

hi everyone,

any help would be appreciated,

i have applied to retain rights of residence under the regulations 10 (5) after a divorce.

nearly years married,proof of living together, she was working during the divorce and on the date of divorce(payslips and bank statements provided, me working for the last 6 years (payslips and bank statements provided).

visa expired on 17 November,
the decree absolute was issued on 4th of January 2017 (it took a year),
application submitted on 26th of January,
application recieved on 30th January.

first question: does submitting application after the expiry date effect my application?
second question: when would i recieve a reference number from home office as my employer is asking for that and im nearly loosing my job.

correction* , visa expired 17 November 2017 and decree absolute issued on 4 January 2018
