Approved!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Post by drewchad » Thu Dec 09, 2004 10:38 am

I received my approval in the mail yesterday. Letter was dated 6 December:

Timeline:
Applied - 7 October (Special Delivery)
Acknowledgment of receipt - 15 October
Job Offer Faxed - 25 November (Thursday)
Approval Letter - 6 December (Monday)

I claimed:
5 Age
25 Degree + CA
35 Work Experience
25 Earnings
90 Total points

The letter doesn't state the points received, just that I passed the minimum. :D

Special Delivery is a means of postage within the UK that is (supposedly)guaranteed to reach the recipient before 12 noon the next day & is also traceable on the internet.

Sounds similar to a courier service. Probably costs similar as well.

Congrats to you drewchad.

I have a question on the job offer that you faxed to HO. What was the fax number and who did you adress it to?

Did you attach a cover letter, and what did it say?
Did you have to complete an extra form for Ho to process your application urgently?

I have an interview on 16 december, over the telephone (I'm in South Africa at the moment). So I need to know what to do if I get the job offer.

Thanks
Benadie

Congratulations, Drewchad ...... great! Well done.

Special Delivery ... available at any UK Post Office ... it is about £4 ... well worth paying when sending important documents through the UK post. Not only is delivery guaranteed no later than Noon the next working day(or the sender can get their postage money back) but the envelope is treated securely, and in the extremely unlikely event of it going missing there is adequate insurance cover to at least pay for the financial cost of placing passports etc..

So, for example, when my wife applied for naturalisation as British earlier this year .... one Special Delivery envelope used to post the application with all its supporting documents such as passports etc .... but another prepaid Special Delivery envelope ... self-addressed .... was enclosed for IND to return all the important documents. The total circa £8 postage was well worth paying ... for peace of mind.

Mere Recorded Delivery ..... compensation is limited to 100 times the cost of a First Class stamp ..... so limit currently £28 .... not nearly enough to compensate to loss of lots of important documents. And Recorded Delivery envelopes not treated securely by the Post Office.
