Thanks for your help - In this scenario if we count back grounds from ilr application date 22-April-2018, we need to count absences in the period which forces us to count beyond the ILR eligibility start date in backward direction till 21-April-2013. Below are more details of each year based on ILR application date.

Year 1 : 21-April-2017 to 22-April-2018 : max. 180 days allowed
Year 2 : 21-April-2016 to 22-April-2017 : max. 180 days allowed
Year 3 : 21-April-2015 to 22-April-2016 : max. 180 days allowed
Year 4 : 21-April-2014 to 12-April-2015 : max. 180 days allowed
Year 5 : 21-April-2013 to 12-April-2016 : max. 180 days allowed

Here 21-April-2013 is not our actual eligibility start date - But our actual eligibility starts from May-10-2013 ( mentioned in first thread) - is counting absences backwards from eligibility start date may-10-2013 till ILR application date 21-April-2013.

I am on tier 4 student visa during this period from may-10-2013 till back ward date 21-April-2013

I am bit confused in this context - Could you please help me asap with proof of home office guidance relates to my context if any

It is ok if the counting goes over the 5 years in the beginning of the period. This is clear in the guide

UK Absence letter format for serious or compelling reason needed

Post by venkata11 » Fri Mar 09, 2018 11:59 am

Hi ,

Could you please provide me the letter format which includes full details of the reason for the absences and all original supporting documents in relation to those reasons - medical certificates, information about the reasons which led to the absence from the United
Kingdom.

I have to include this letter as part of SET O ILR application. Thanks for your help in advance.
