TB blood test

Post by weiser » Mon Mar 31, 2008 11:30 pm

Hi

I have tried to find out what medical tests my wife needs to take for her spouse visa.

I am from the UK, british citizen and she is from Karachi.

I have been told a TB test is required, is there any other tests I need to submit as I am going to karachi in afew days time.

My solicitor has been not very helpful but can't go back now and undo things, he has given me an email address that returns back, so not much good there.

where can my wife take the medical test in Karachi?

Thanks

weiser.
in karachi she can go to Aga Khan University hospital(clifton/Bhadurabad) and IOM(international Office of Migration) which is at clifton.
AKU does the tests whereas IOM gives back the TB certificate.

Thanks Vinney & sweethina99

can I ask if your spouse has done the TB test how long does it take for the certificate?

also, shall I ring them up the khan university beforehand to make an appointment or go there and see someone. Sorry for all the stupid Q's just want to make sure everything is right before I go in afew days time.

also, vinney has given me a link to some useful numbers, do I ring them once in karachi, don't want to ring and they tell me come back in a month's time or something, so do I need to prepare anything beforehand?

also is there any other test required?

if i remember correctly they give appointment within 2 days and the results are handed to you on the same day if the TB test has been conducted before 12.00 am and if after 12.00 am the results can be collected the very next day from IOM.

Hi

Visited my solicitor one last time before I fly off this weekend.

he tells me that I have to hand the paperwork to FedEx in Karachi as I cannot go directly to the high comission.

Do any of you have a contact for FedEx in Karachi?

Also, when do I pay the fee for the Visa and how much is it?

Thanks

Hi M000n

thanks so much for the info, I wish my solicitor had told me about these things, really regret having him as my solicitor, has not helped much with the application

can I ask afew more Q's and sorry in advance they sound as if i should already know the answer, flying out on sunday so want to know as much as I can

Q: What must be submitted with my Visa Application Form and supporting documents?
A: One photograph, copy of NADRA N.I.C, passport and one photocopy of passport

what is NADRA NIC?

also does my wife submit her passport with her application for the visa?

when I pay the fee, how I do reference this to the visa I am going to submit? ie do I submit a receipt with the application to say I have paid the fee?

also is the fee I am paying the settlement fee ie £500+?

Thanks, appreciate any advice given

Yes. If successful, they would need to endorse her passport.

There was abit of a confusion over the blood test procedure. I went directly to the Aga khan hospital when in fact I should have picked up the form from the IMO centre first.

My wife is going to submit the visa forms etc in acouple of days time

what happens at Gerry's, do they ask questions when you go inside, is anyone allowed to acompany the visa applicant?

when do you pay for the visa?
