10 Year Long Residency Rule

Apologies if there is an answer to this elsewhere in the forum. Does anyone know the criteria for 10 year Long Residency ILR? Can it be a combination of 7 years student + 3 years WP (all continuous). Spoke to an immigration advisor today who advised it has to be in one category ie. 10 year Student or 5 years on WP, this didn't sound right to me. 5 years on WP comes 2 years after my 10 year legal stay hence the question.

Rob,

its 10 years continous stay on any basis to be eligible for ILR, so you are fine.
