HSMP - what date are they up to?

Post by britches » Mon Apr 07, 2008 1:16 am

I live in NZ, and can't ring UK everyday to check what date they are currently processing (due to the major time difference of 12 hours).

I was wondering if anyone could help a kiwi out and put down the date here if they happen to ring up to check.

Last I read, they were up to Feb 19th applications.

Cheers :D

Just wondering about tier1 appllications. Is tier 1 applications have to join the same 'Q' or HO running the different branch to deal with new applicant.

Regards,
Irf.

Hi britches

Saw in the forum here that someone rang HO about their application that was received by HO on the 29th Feb yesterday.

Apparently no caseworker had been assigned yet :( :(

3 days (25 Feb to 28 Feb) done in 2 weeks.
Looks like its going to be a loooooooooooooooong loooooooooooooooong wait.
Fingers crossed, they might have been training new staff and setting up a new centre in Durham.
Maybe now they will speed up.
Fingers crossed.

you guys must definitely be dreaming. we are talking about hsmp applications here. not work permits. there is a huge difference. work permits are whats applied when u have an employer and part of whats nowadays known as tier 2.

i called yesterday and the date is still 28 feb. on trackitt noone has updated a decision for hsmp for march yet.

and please dont confuse hsmp with tier 1 as well. tier 1 applications for april are being processed but for hsmp its still 28 feb.

hopefully
1. there shouldnt be as many applications in march
2. there were doing training and moving buildings and thats sorted now
3. the tier 1 for the rest of the world is delayed so we dont have to show 2800 for 3 months

My apologies, I did not realise that this is a HSMP specific query.

sorry. apologies are all mine. maybe my vocabulary was too strong.
i just wanted to point out that its going to be a long wait and we may have to adjust our plans accordingly if possible.
poor planning by HO without any consideration for us, i suppose.

if they are still working on Feb 28th, then that makes it the case that they have been working on 3 days worth of applications since my application has been in (April 18th), because that is what they were working on when they received my app.

I sure hope they have just forgotten to update the machine or this delay is caused by other's mentions of a move to Durham, because if it takes 36+ days to process 3 days worth of applications, that means that I have approx. 588 days of waiting ahead of me (and that would be assuming the the application volume in late Feb is the same as the month of March, which I am sure isnt the case due to the fact that April 1 marked the end of HSMP for India).

I think the best thing we can all do is add our case to and keep an eye on the updates made to trackitt.com (and of course, call Home Office for status updates).

Oweiii
I just called, they're upto 29 of February!!!!!!!

This means it's taking them more than two weeks to do 1 day of application!

We can't say it's lack of update since they updated from 28th to 29th

This is ridiculous!

This is ridiculously crazy timing...I have doubts whether HO realizes the importance of HSMP to the UK economy.

Just one day of increment from 28th to 29th of Feb in a time span of 3 weeks.

Just called, it's now 1st of march (after 11 days!)
If this cotinues I think april applicants can expect their decisions by mid 2009  I can't understand what's happening really, I know there should be an influx of application in Feb/March, but this also means an influx of application fees and that should also mean they can arrange more case workers to work on applications.

This is too much, I have applied in may (after my april application was returned for incorrect payment). I don't want to calculate how much I'm gonna wait.

Looks like they have given up on posting a service rate of 9x% on their website for HSMP. From no 50% in 5 weeks, to 95% only, then 94% 2 weeks ago, then 93% last week. Now its just
"Our service standard is that we will decide:

* 50% of applications within five weeks
* 90% of applications within 14 weeks.

Due to a high volume of applications received over the past few months, we are currently experiencing delays in the processing of HSMP applications. Regrettably, this has had an impact on our service standards. We are working to reduce the high volume of applications and to minimise these delays.

We are currently considering applications received on 3 March.

We will update this notice on a weekly basis."
Looks like initially they took off a large part of the HSMP group to work on Tier 1. Now at least they have admitted to not reaching their service standard and have started putting dates on their website.
