Any advantage in applying for HSMP from UK ?

Post by anurikavidya » Fri Apr 18, 2008 10:49 pm

Hi,

I am an indian and planning to apply for HSMP. I am currently working in UK , having workpermit Visa.

My question to this forum is - is the chance of getting the HSMP visa approved , more if i apply during my stay in UK against applying, from India, immediately after i return to India ?

I appreciate your quick response .

Regards
Anurika

1. The location does not determine your chances of getting the HSMP visa. What does determine is your ability to score 75 points.

2. An obvious fact to find out is: are you able to switch from work permit to HSMP from within UK?

I hope the aforementioned is useful.

well location matters, the same process in India is very tedious.

The BHC have outsourced the visa processing to third party and they ask for so many documents apart from verification etc. which fails once in a while because of no reason. BHC is given one phone call to make a call and verify and if they dont get an answer there have been rejections.
Also the time it takes to get EC drains you off, so my personal experience is it is far easier to get it in UK though if your documentation is complete you should get it in India as well.

Also if you are in UK, you can switch over to HSMP from WP provided you applied as in country applicant.

considering new rules, can someone apply within UK/incountry applicant
and still show Indian salary ??

assuming he came to UK on a work permit.

@Anurika,

Hope you know that you now as per the new rule there is no HSMP for Indians, instead you have to apply for Tier-1.
The chances of getting approved, applied from UK is more say 80% with speed and time.
rather than from India.

@itsme,

You can show any account overseas.
below mention is from "Tier-1genpolicyguide.pdf" UK goverment guidence.
99. In order to assess earnings made overseas, these earnings
must be converted into pounds sterling. The official exchange
rate used by the Agency is that produced by Oanda.

100. Applicants should use the closing spot exchange rate which
appears on www.oanda.com1 or the last day of the period for
which they have claimed earnings in that currency.
cheers!

what i did, i came to UK on WP and within few months i applied on indian salary earnings since indian employers dont give much.

that gave me time to understand the market, get used to the environment, look for the best options and then switch.

applying from UK is very convenient and doesnt drain u mentally.

VERY URGENT

Post by piyush123 » Mon May 05, 2008 6:28 pm

Hi,

I'm going to the UK on WP and within a week want to switch to TIER-1. I've already got the HSMP approval letter in India. Can I apply for TIER-1 at this point of time using the HSMP Approval letter which i got in India and what would be the cost of application if i have the HSMP Approval letter. Will this approval letter work in UK too (if not expired)??

Also, please let me know what are the list of docs I need to apply with for TIER-1 as per the case above.

Please suggest.

Thank you!!
