ILR after 6 years DL

Post by hasbiyah » Thu Jan 11, 2018 10:19 pm

Hello all
I got my First DL in 1st week in May 2012, and I applied for an extension in 3rd week in March 2015.
Home office claimed to have write my Solicitor 3rd week in April requesting for an additional information which is my daughters passport in which I didn't submit with my application when I applied as she hasn't got one then. unfortunately my solicitor didn't receive this letter and this leads to Home office sending back my application saying it invalid in 3rd week in May.
I resend the application immediately, and Home Office send the letter again requesting for my daughter's passport, this time I got the letter and I Immediately approach my embassy and I applied for my daughters passport. I sent the prove to Home office in June and the application was granted in August 2015.
My questions
When can I apply for my settlement?
In 1st week in May, It will be 6 years of holding DL.
Please guys your advice, will be appreciated

You can apply 28 days or within 28 days of reaching 6 years DLR.
These are my 'views' and 'opinions'.
If in doubt always seek professional advice, or at least do a search for the relevant information. :P

If i make any mistakes, You are more than welcome to correct me.

Thank you CMOSUK for your quick response, I truly appreciate it. Do you mean I can apply in April?
Also do you know how long it take to get a decision on a postage application?
Thank you so much for your time.

yes

I'm afraid, that is something no one can tell you as it all really depends on your immigration history and what documents you submit and current circumstances.

If you have a complex immigration history then it might take time.

Thank you so much for your time.

ILR Payment with a Friend Credit Card

Post by hasbiyah » Tue May 29, 2018 6:49 am

Good Morning All

I am due to apply for ILR soon. My question is that can I make a payment through a friend credit card? My friend has given me an authorisation in using her card, I just wanted to be sure if this wont contradict the application filling payment section. I would like to know if any one has made a payment through friend/family credit card before. I just wanted to be sure if this is allow. Your advice would be truly appreciated.
Thank you so much guys for time and advice.

I would imagine that should be fine, just like using your friend's credit card (with his authorisation of course) to make any other purchases online or otherwise. As long as credit card details match with the bank, the bank should honour the payment. I don't think there is a UKVI requirement to pay from your own fund sources in my view.

If you are applying in person then you pay online. You don't pay at the centre and therefore do Not complete the payment page in the form.

Form SET(O).
Could you state your full immigration history in order for us to help you further.

Where you granted as DLR after a failed asylum application?

Thank you very much for your quick respnse CR001.
Please could you advice if the other documents is okay for submission.
In addition, The Set O application form was printed in a colour print, does it matter or it have to be in a black and white print?
Thank you for your help and assistance.

Makes no difference if colour or black and white.

Documents look ok, but I would submit more than just 3 months bank statements and payslips, submit at least 6 months. Do you have no proof of residence bills prior to this year???

Also I will be adding council tax bill from 2016/2017, 2017/2018, and 2018/2019.
I will provide 1 year payslip.
