Tier 2 Dependant - Surname Change

Post by Bargewalk156 » Mon Jul 30, 2018 9:38 am

Hi All,

My wife is a dependent on my tier 2 visa and she recently changed her surname to my surname. I am having a hard time finding out what exactly we need to do to get a new BRP (the call centre was less than helpful). On this website: https://www.gov.uk/transfer-visa, they make reference to TOC forms, NTL forms, Change of circumstances forms etc... But from what I understand, she just needs to apply for a whole new bioresidence permit by filling in the TOC form and nothing else. Is that the case? Has anybody gone through this?

Also, I can't seem to find anything about processing times (once again, the call centre did not know about processing times). Any ideas about this? I have read elsewhere that it takes up to 8 weeks, but I can't find anything official.

Many thanks.

Hi, we are facing a similar situation but our complexity is that
- wife got a job offer, and the Onboarding team raised if as an issue, otherwise we would not have even known
- we have booked travel for the next few weeks so can't afford to send off her passport.

Can we submit an MCC form or does it have to be the TUC?

For anyone with similar circumstances, it has the be the ToC as advised by the Home Office, we tried the MCC form but were told it wasn't the form to use

I would like to share my experience, I had changed my surname and I have asked Home Office about my name changed they have said I do need to apply new visa ( back in 2013) As long I am carrying both passport.

Your case is bit different I am not sure what to advised.
