Tier 2 to unmarried partner visa

Post by Citygirluk313 » Mon Oct 30, 2017 12:49 pm

Hi guys,

I have been on a tier 2 visa for a year. Before this, I was on T5 Yms for 14 months.

I have 2 full years living with my partner. We would like to go for an unmarried partner visa next year. The thing is, When I changed T5 to T2, my company stated that my salary will be 35k on the contract which satisfy the requirement.

However, they only kept my old salary which is 23k after I return to the UK on T2 for the whole year.

Now I'm qualified to apply for the unmarried partner visa and I know that I'd have to submit my salary proof. Would that affect the decision on my unmarried couple visa?

Thanks.

Unmarried partner visa: Single person discount on council tax

Post by Citygirluk313 » Tue Aug 14, 2018 8:09 pm

Hi guys,

We have a situation here. My British partner and I are about to go for unmarried partner visa application.

He is in a shared ownership with his flat. However, my partner has been receiving a single person discount on council tax. Do we have to submit the council tax bill as part of the accommodation evidence? Or can we just leave it?

Thanks!

If you live with him, which you presumably do if applying with two years evidence of living together in a relationship akin to marriage, the he is NOT entitled to a single person discount as he is not living alone.

He had an obligation to inform the council the moment his circumstances changed and you moved in.

Cancel the discount and put both your names on the council tax but don’t send it as it won’t look good, they are other bills you can send including the mortgage papers.we were in same situation .

Should we tell them I have moved in since aug 2016? Or should we just simply cancel the discount now?

So council tax bill isn't compulsory.
