Changing Employers from Tier 2 to Tier 2

Hi,

I am planning to change my employer. I am on Tier 2 general visa. I have the appointment with the home office next week for a visa.
Can my current employer retain me by providing a counter offer after I got a new visa from my new employer?

Please help.

If you get a new visa, then no, you can't then decide immediately to stay with your current employer. You would have to apply again for another tier 2 visa change of employer.

Once your new visa is granted, your current visa will be cancelled.
