Guidance for applying Tier one / EC from India

Post by reach_krishna » Sat May 03, 2008 8:09 pm

Hi Team,

Sub: Guidance for applying Tier one / EC from India - Request you to reply ASAP as my HSMP approval is about to become invalid.....

Congratulations for getting your EC Approval. Dear i require your assistance for applying EC .
I got my HSMP Approval on February - 04th 2008 and i need to apply for Tier one / EC, where i am applying from India.
Couldn't apply for Tier one / EC soon after my approval due to personal reasons (Recent death of my uncle). I am confused due to the recent changes in the immigration,

- Do i come under old immigration laws / Tier one.
- Will i get visa for 2 years / 3 years.
- Maintenance funds

(a) Recently i heard that we need to maintain 2800 GBP in our savings
account for the duration of three months and later we can apply for
Tier one, Is this true ?
(b) In case if 2800 GBP should be maintained for three months, which i
haven't done
almost i have passed 3 months and Approval is about to become
invalid on August -
03rd 2008 right now do i have a chance to credit this amount?
(c) If i gathered this amount from my Parents and credit to my account
will UK
Embassy will ask proof of the amount credited into my bank account ?
Do i have any chance right now as 3 months from now will cross the
approval date ?
(d) Can i show any proof from any sponsor saying that they are having
2800 GBP . Is this possible.

Approached Customer care and dropped many mails but there are mails / calls with different answers . Please help me by replying these queries.

Also i need a detailed check list for the documents which need to apply for Tier one / EC with the contact centers in India i.e Delhi / abroad, with their phone number to reach and the direct website links where i can download the information .

I am afraid that my HSMP approval will be expired. Please help me to sort out as i am more worried which created a big havoc in my mind.

Many Thanks in Advance.

With Regards
Krishna

You have to apply for Tier 1 visa under the "transitional arrangements for those with HSMP approval letter".
http://www.vfs-uk-in.com/pbsguidance.aspx#hsmp

If applying from India, you will need to show that you have held the minimum balance for at least 3 months preceding your application. The transitional arrangements apply on applications from within UK but, unfortunately, not valid for applications from India.

The rule is relaxed only in uk upto june 29th.
In india we still have to show the minimum amount.

This is a case of discrimination against indian applicants.
I mailed the high commision (Chennai.VisaEnquiry@fco.gov.uk) and they said sorry the rule is not relaxed in india.

I dont know how we can protest the same.

Hi,

Please check the post from gmhsmp. He received the approval letter in Nov 2007 and applied for EC under old rules.
