Switching from Tier 4 Visa to Tier 2 visa with a cannabis caution

Hello,

I am currently studying in UK in a Tier 4 Student visa and I am working part time as a software developer in a company here in London. The company is happy with my performance and they are willing to sponsor me after 10 months, when I get my M.Sc. diploma.

A few days ago I got a Cannabis Caution and I will have to mention it in my Tier 2 application. I wanted to know if my Tier 2 application response will automatically be Negative or is there any possibility for the outcome to be Positive.

If there is any possibility for it to be Positive, what factors might work in my favour and what not?
