PBS Dependent Extension Query(Main Applicant ILR Holder)

Hello Guys,

I currently hold ILR (Tier 2 General route) and wife holds a PBS dependent visa expiring April'19 and will be qualifying for ILR in July'20.

Can we make the PBS extension application anytime now (she travels to Europe frequently on business) OR should we do it within 3 months of expiry?

Also, could you please mention the documents required for extension.

The online form process will give you a checklist of documents, which are fairly minimal.

Also, she first entered UK on 25/07/15 and will qualify for ILR in July 2020 - so in terms of IHS do we pay until 2020 or until 2021(6 years max Tier 2)?

She will get a 3 year visa, regardless of when she qualifies for ILR. You cannot apply for a lesser validity visa. There is NO '6 year cap' for PBS Dependents, it ONLY applies to Tier 2 General main visa holders. What date was her first dependent visa issued??

Note that IHS fees are doubling in mid December to £400 per year so for 3 years it will be £1200 plus the visa fee if you delay applying.

First Dependent visa issued on 15/07/15, but she entered UK on 25/07/15.
Yes, I'm aware of IHS fees increase and we will try to apply soon - may be premium service.

Her residence for ILR starts counting from the date her visa was ISSUED.
