Thanks for replying. I need to apply Restriced COS and they are willing to sponsor it. The offer letter is issued by them as well. I am just waiting them to start the visa process.applejuice wrote: ↑Wed Dec 19, 2018 8:25 amHi kchk, may I ask the visa you need to apply is Restricted Cos or unrestricted cos? Is the company willing to offer the job and sponsor Restricted cos for you? I am in the similar situation like you so hope to know more about it. Thank you.
I think you should consider what is the strength (eg. special exposure? leadership skills and experience, etc.) and show it to the interviewer. Especially you are applying for less senior level position, just act positively during the interview then it should be fine.applejuice wrote: ↑Wed Dec 19, 2018 10:08 amMy position is a less senior level and I am currently not in the uk. I am still waiting for interview invitation. Although the company can sponsor visa, I am not very sure if they would consider me with other local candidates equally. Do you have any tips for my case? Thank you.
In your case, as long as you and the company have signed the job contact, they can't withdraw normally. My friend who got a offer before told me there is terms in the contract to protect job seeker's rights. So as long as you have accepted the offer, it should be no problem.
Thanks for your reply. I am just so worried about the process so I asked if anyone here have gone through all the parts with similar background (including job position and potential employer). Please forgive me.CR001 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 21, 2018 11:48 amWhy do you believe your situation is unique?? It is not.
They cannot apply to HO for a RCoS before January as they have to apply in time to be included in the monthly allocation meeting which takes place on the 11th or 12 each month. There is no special process for a 'big 4' company. They have to follow the same rules and processes as everyone else. Only once the RCoS is approved by HO, can YOU start the visa process in your home country.
Hopefully the RLMT was completed and ended BEFORE you were offered the job and not done AFTER simply to meet the 'RLMT done' requirement.
Thanks okigenokigen68 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 03, 2019 8:31 pmHi, I have obtained/changed Tier 2 visas 3 times as an audit grad/senior with 2 practices so far, the last one was just 6 months ago with no issue. Big 4 are very professional about this, they have their own legal firm for this kind of thing, or in some cases partner with a specialist. So if they said they would do it then you don't need to worry too much.
If still concerned, you can ring up their immigration lawyer (they will contact you shortly before starting your apllication). If you don't have their contacts yet, you can explain the your concerns to HR (the onboarding team) or even request to talk with a global mobility manager who oversees the visa process for new joiners.
The shortage list, if I remember correctly, can give you some benefits, but anyway I got two COS just fine without it.
Congrats on your offer
