Dear Gurus and members,

My husband recently got his ILR through 10 years Long residence route. Also, Our baby born in the UK last year , who has only got birth certificate. When our baby was born my husband was under Tier 2 General visa category. My query is:
1)Can I apply for my baby’s citizenship Now?

2)What are the procedures for baby’s citizenship?

3)What all documents needed ?

1. Yes.

2. Apply using form MN1. See also citizenship FAQs (click to read)

3. Please read the link above and the form and guidance notes.

4. £1012 for a postal application.

Thanks CR001. Your replies are super helpful.

The reason I ma confused is I would like to utilise my maternity leave and travel to my home contry with my baby. But if this takes aupto 6 months, my mat leave will be over and I will be stuck here. Would you know the approximate timelines of people who have recently applied for MN1 to gauge the time frame? Then i can take an informed choice of either applyign for the home country passport or not?

Can you please NOT tag onto other members topics, it is considered rude and unfair to other users.

You have a topic already, please ask your questions there.
