If you have an offer?

Post by anupvijay » Tue Apr 06, 2004 10:32 am

Friends,

Does it make any difference if you have an offer in hand from a company
in UK ?
I mean difference to the processing time.It looks like that nowadays the
processing time is around 2 months at least.

Is there any other advantage apart from the processin time if you have
an offer in hand ?

Please give me your inputs.
Cheers,
Anup

There is a previous post in this forum with the heading " Can contract job offer speed up the HSMP processing time ?". It may help you.

Thanks Zahid.
I found the post and it says that if there is a pending offer the process
might be quick.

Anyone actually experienced this priority processin first hand.I mean
what does quick mean ? Instead of 8 weeks how much would it take ?

Cheers,
Anup

Quick could mean 24 hours (or 1 week including stamping of in-country passports). That's what it has taken to approve some applications a few months ago, even though the general backlog was averaging a couple of months then.

I believe that HSMP initially sort applications by priority. They can make quick positive decisions on applications that have ample high-quality original documentation and which obviously meet their criteria. That's why I said in the other string that it's vital that you have a well organized and documented application.

The short answer is yes, they can speed up the process if you have a firm job offer and can proof that your application requires urgent treatement.

Last week they told me that my application will take another three weeks before they will assign it to a case worker. I sent them a fax with a letter from my employer stating reasons why they need me urgently. Yesterday I received an email that they completed my application.
