Hi Everyone,

I am getting ready to apply for ILR soon and want to verify with you the following :

- I was granted my Tier 2 visa on 30/04/2014 and only arrived in the UK on 09/06/2014. If I want to calculate the continuous period, do I start from the granted date or arrival date?

- If I am starting from the granted date, 30/04/2019 completes my five years in the UK. Does that mean I can apply for my ILR 28 days before that day which starts from the 02/04/2019 onwards?

- Can I use the same IELTS certificate used for a Tier 2 visa even though is expired as proof of English in my ILR application?

- When does the Home Office consider the date of the application ? From the date submitted online or the date of attending the super priority to submit the documents ?

- I am working for the same employer for a year and few months (started last November), Does this mean I only have to show 3 month payslip and 3 month bank account statement where the salary goes into ?

Date of application is the date you submit and pay online for Set(O).

The question asks about entry date not visa issue date. HO knows the rules where to count the date from (visa issue date).

The rules have changed since that topic in 2014. They changed in January 2018.

I have got my ILR few years ago and claiming child benefit (public funds). Now my wife is going to apply for ILR (currently she is on tier-2 dependant route). As per the below guidance, it says

When you apply for settlement, you and your partner must:
be living together in your own accommodation
not be using public funds (https://www.gov.uk/government/publicati ... c-funds--2)

Please advise, what needs to be done. When I phoned up Homeoffice customer service team, they advised me to submit a cover note explaining the situation. Kindly suggest will the above apply for my wife's ILR application?

I'm under the impression, me being on ILR status, I can claim child benefit. Pls advise

What 'original letter'??? Any letter you submit or bank statement must be recent, no older than 28 days before the date you submit and pay online.

I have two children, one born outside of the UK and one born in the UK. As I understand I can apply for naturalisation to become British citizen right ?

For the UK born child yes. Note that children are registered not naturalised.

Child born abroad needs ILR and can apply when either parent is also applying for citizenship or one parent is already British and the other holds ILR.

So I will have to follow the MN1 form for the child UK born ?

As for the other child, I will renew the dependent visa for another 2 years with his mother so he complete his 5 years then apply for ILR.
