I was Uk 1+year,Now India am I eligible for Tier-1?

Post by helloapr » Fri Jun 20, 2008 7:27 pm

Hi All,

I have been workin in India and last 1+ year [15th may 2007 - 10June 2008] I was at UK with workpermit role, it was an onsite role from my company.

When I was at UK
1. I have full Indian Salary with PaySlip
2. I have UK pounds for daily allownses(perdiem)

No salary slips for UK allowenses.

Now my question is : Can I apply for Tier-1/Hsmp Now ?( now I am at india, 16th June 2008 onwords I have been in india)

Is there any condition that I should not apply for another 6months??

If you say I am eligible to apply.. let me know How they calculate the points for my indian salary ??
(My indian salary come around 550 GBP)

your inputs are more valuable for me .....

Here's a valuable input, should you wish to follow it.

Read the Tier 1 guidance available on the VFS website. Understand what's written in there and you'll know the rules and how to do the income calculations. Another resouce which you can use to assess your points is the self-assessment tool.

BTW, there's no time restriction on when you can apply. As long as you fulfil the requirements, you can apply.

but my salary slips showing alowenses

Post by helloapr » Tue Jun 24, 2008 8:05 pm

Hi, thanks for your reply.

Home office consider the past 12months salary slips - it looks fine bzc my salary slip does't show it as UK pounds. its all indian rupees.

but when they check my passport they can easily say that I was in UK for last 12months, so they may calculate the slary which I shown would be in UK pounds right?

Am I correct ?

They wont say or see anything just like that. The onus of satisfying the caseworker is on the applicant.

Read the guidelines carefully and then state your question clearly. People on this forum might be in a position to advise.

That is why I recommended to you that you first read the guidance and understand what is in there.

For the time you were in UK, your income will be calculated as per UK income band and not Indian income band.

As sushmehta has suggested earlier, read the Tier1 policy guide, study local VFS site and check the eligibility on Self assessment tool. In case of doubts, search this forum. If you do not find the answer then post your query.

Cheers!.
