VFS application with damaged passport number

hello all,

I applied for my daughter ROA in VFS filled in the application form, payed for the appointment etc. Then the passport damaged with water and I have applied for a new passport. I can't change the application with the new passport number.

I am planning to give a letter stating the situation and request to use the new passport.

Will this create a problem? Have someone come across similar issue?
