Allowed to stay after FLR and HSMP rejection

Can anyone tell me how many days stay is allowed in UK after:

1. HSMP application is refused

2. FLR (IED) is refused

It depends on whether you appeal or not....

....after all legal routes have been exhausted, I think you are allowed 28 days. But on the other hand you can also change status during this time

thanks for a quick response!!

if you dont mind me asking (too many questions!):

say if on day 1: receive hsmp/flr refusal

how many days are given to make an appeal?
how many days are given to leave the country?
and if yet again, the appeal is unsuccessful, how many days are given to leave the country?
if the case is under appeal, what is the legal status of the appellant?

i am sure your answers will enlighten the others on this forum.
