ILTR 5 yr route

Post by Ted » Thu May 16, 2019 9:12 pm

I married my wife in Vietnam she is Vietnamese and I sponsored her to settle here with me in the Uk, I am a uk citizen.
We have two children one born in the UK and one born in Vietnam.

Now my wife has just sent off her application for Indefinite leave to remain.

My wife has been in the UK 5 years now, has never been on benefits etc.

My wife has never worked in the UK because we have two young children and this has made it too difficult to find work in her chosen field.

My wife read somewhere that her application for Indefinite leave to remain will be rejected because she has so far not worked, can anybody here explain to me if this is true?

Thanks

No it won't be rejected only for the reason of not working as long as the other partner can be able to fulfill the financial requirement through working/self employment etc
The opinion expressed as above is neither a professional advice nor contesting/competing to other member's opinion/advice.

Thank-you for your reply. I thought that to be the case though my wife thinks this is not the case.

Thanks again.
