NHS number

Post by abelardp » Sat May 18, 2019 6:10 pm

Hello,

My wife is now in the UK on a spouse visa, and of course we paid the NHS surcharge as part of the visa application process.

How does she get an NHS number, to access local GP/dentist services?
Does she simply need to go to a local medical practice and register as a new patient, with her BRP card?

Many thanks for any advice,

Paul

She could go to your local GP practice, they will ask her to fill a form and that should start the process. Ask her to take her passport and brp with her. After some time, she will receive a letter with her NHS number.
