Professional referees for Naturalisation application...

Post by rabey » Wed Jul 02, 2008 12:18 pm

Hi,

Unfortunately I could not get my NHS doctor's reference. Coz, I am going to this NHS only since last 2 years. My doctor said, the application clearly mentions that one should be known for at least 3 years. So he refused to act as a referee.

Can I use my company's chairman as professional referee in my naturalisation application? Currently I am working in this private limited company which was established for more than 25 years and with more than 100 employees.

Please share your thoughts....

Many thanks,

Rabey

believe me, Ho will accept any one as referee as long as they don't have any criminal past. For me one of my collegue signed it and he doesn't have any sort of professional stading apart from a job as receptionist

If it's picked up on, do you mind if your naturalisation is delayed?

One referee should be a person of any nationality who has professional standing. It also includes the Managing director of a VAT registered company, on the list of acceptable professionals.

The other referee should a british citizen who is either a professional or aged over 25.

If you follow maveli62's advice, the caseworker may pick up on the fact that you do not have the required referees and your application will be delayed at best or refused at worst.

Hello

I'm wondering if anyone can provide guidance on what type of positions would satisfy the "Director/Manager/Personnel Officer of a VAT registered Company" category.

The person I would like to use as my referee has the title of "General Manager" within a multinational retail company. Is this likely to be accepted by the HO? Do they bacillary look for the referee's title to contain the words "Director" or "Manager"?

Thanks.

I saw in the caseworker manual that they are supposed to ask for alternate referee if the ones provided do not qualify
