Fiancee Visa waiting time

I'm australian and have currently been waiting 8 weeks for my fiancee visa and have not heard anything, i had a solicitor compile the application for me.
Has anyone submitted one recently a settlement visa lately at the canberra bristish embassy?
I am keen to know if i receive an email before they send it back or does it just turn up by courier??

Anyones experience will help

I spoke to someone from the embassy today and they said that they are taking the full 12 weeks. Should i beleive that or do they just tell everyone that .. cause there is no correct answer..

Please someone answer me
